Dakota Lee MA RMHCI
I am Dakota Lee and I have been working with TRI since August of 2023. I have been served by TRI for two years while I was an RUF intern. Also, with additional history as a Winston-Salem Fellow, I love caring for young people who are in transition and looking for change in their life.
I graduated from RTS Orlando and am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in Florida. I have a private practice at Florida Counseling Foundation. I work with clients facing physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, substance abuse, sexuality (addiction, dysfunction, and orientation), depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, codependency, work-related stress, life skills, career and life transitions, psychoeducation, and family of origin problems. I especially enjoy working with high schoolers, college students, and couples.
I live with two roommates in South Orlando. I've been dating a beautiful Nurse Practitioner named Elizabeth who is a Florida Gator -- house divided (I'm a volunteer) -- for almost 1.5 years. My parents still live in Knoxville, Tennessee in my childhood home. For fun, I enjoy golfing, fly fishing, reading classic literature, fiction, and philosophy, playing tennis, guitar and bass (I used to be in a band). I feel most alive when I am playing live music or when I’m at a music concert for one of my favorite artists. I would love to travel to England, France, Iceland, and Italy. As a child, my favorite book was Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl, which is now my favorite film as an adult.
I grew up in the EPC church at Cedar Springs Presbyterian, then in college became reformed through RUF and joined the PCA in 2016 at Salem Presbyterian Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Currently I’m part of a PCA church called Christ United Fellowship in Orlando. Contact me at dakota@therestinitiative.org or 865-789-4307 (EST).
